How do I book with Invisible String officiants?
Before booking, we will schedule a free consultation to be sure that I am a good fit for your needs. Contact me to set up an in person or zoom consultation session. Please be sure to include your wedding date in your initial contact.
How do you create a wedding ceremony?
I use your words and your story to create a ceremony that encapsulates your love for one another. Using letters you write to one another, but send to me, I tell the story of your journey to the altar. I have several options for your vows or you can feel free to write your own. AI is never used in the creation of your ceremony. The event is wholly human.
What if I want a more traditional wedding?
The vibes of your wedding are completely up to you. We can include traditional elements or leave them out. We can include references to religious beliefs or avoid the topic altogether. This day is about you and the way that you want your ceremony to flow!
Do you travel for weddings?
I am licensed to officiate in the State of Ohio. I live in the Columbus area and I will travel to Central Ohio locations within about 10 miles of the 270 loop for no charge. (See map below)
If your wedding is outside of this area, there will be a $1.50 per mile charge. This distance begins at the John Glenn International Airport and includes the first ten miles for free.
For example: If your wedding is taking place in Mansfield, Ohio, 67 miles away from CMH airport, the first ten miles would be free, so you would pay for 57 miles x $1.50 per mile, totaling an extra $85.50 on top of the ceremony fee. This fee covers both to and from the ceremony location. If you are requesting a rehearsal, you would need to pay the fee for that trip as well.
If your ceremony location is 80 miles or more from CMH airport and you are requesting a rehearsal the day before, there is a hotel fee, approx. $150-$200, instead of a second trip.
What is your payment and deposit policy?
A non-refundable $50 deposit is due upon booking. The remainder of your bill will be due one week before the wedding date, in order to minimize distractions on your special day! I accept payment by electronic transfer (venmo, cashapp, zelle) and check.
What will the officiant wear at my wedding?
Basic wedding attire is a black knee length or floor length dress, depending upon the dress code. For those couples who want a wedding that is uniquely you, I am also willing to dress to fit the theme of your wedding, within reason, providing you purchase the desired attire if I don't already have it in my closet. For example, I have officiated a Halloween wedding as a witch, upon the request of the bride and groom.
What do I need to bring to the wedding?
Regarding officiation, you will need to bring the copy of your marriage license with you to the event. I will sign the license after the ceremony is performed and submit it to the county of licensure. This will be complete within 3 business days after the wedding. You will then be able to receive your certificate of marriage and use this to prove your legal status and change names, if you wish to do so.
Information on how to get a marriage license in Franklin County, Ohio can be found here. If you live in another county, a simple google search of "Marriage License [INSERT COUNTY NAME]" should do the trick!
